During the revolutionary period, Rosario's features were quite distinct from its brand-new ones. Formerly known as “Pago de los Arroyos," our city only had 600 inhabitants who settled in a 15-block area, but this land has always been strategically located. Facing the danger of royalist invasions, Belgrano found in these lands a favorable scenario for the creation of a patriotic insignia that would differentiate the revolutionary army from the royalist militia.
