This building represents one of the first examples of high-rise constructions intended for urban rental.
Designed by Architect Collivadino, it was inaugurated in 1907. Originally owned by “La Caja Internacional Mutua de Pensiones” (International Mutual Pension Fund), it used the funds collected from its members to invest in urban real estate.
At the intersection of the two facades of the building, there is an octagonal body that ends in a belvedere with a bulbous or segmental dome elevated on a tempietto (small temple-shaped structure) with arcades. Because of its height, which exceeds its width, it is an outstanding element that defines the urban landscape.
