Founded in 1915, it began as an amateur football club. In 1928, "Los Benjamines" football team achieved promotion to the top-tier league with the distinctive colours of the institution, light blue, and maroon.
The club currently has two venues for the practice of basketball, recreational football, hockey, volleyball, swimming, tennis, taekwondo, and water polo.
The club is a powerhouse that produced three outstanding world-class athletes: Claudio Plit, quadruple world champion in open water swimming; Luciana Aymar, elected eight times as the best field hockey player in the world; and tennis player Nadia Podoroska, Roland Garros semi-finalist in 2020.
