El Petit Trianón

The emblematic Petit Trianon, registered as Gold Mine in the municipal records, was one of the outstanding venues in the brothel period of the neighborhood. On its facade, there is a bas-relief of Leda and the Swan just over the entrance door. This sensual and appealing mythological figure symbolically welcomed the brothel clients.

It included a central courtyard for ventilation, sliding skylights, and two circulation circuits to prevent the crossing of clients and sex workers. Indoor, there were luxurious details such as the upholstered furniture, a Victrola, and a courtyard with glossy black and white tiles, in a fragrant environment. The prostitutes' rooms were on an adjacent lot, with a separate entrance.
The mansion was restored, and it currently houses a textile factory.
A few feet away, was the former "El Internacional", located at 2943 Jujuy St. It was one of the first brothels, and one of the busiest. The most outstanding detail of its facade is a female figure just over the entrance door, which welcomed the clients.
Nowadays, it houses a retirement home, and it still preserves various decorative elements inside and on the facade such as ornaments, volumes and the sculpture that stands out for its excellence.
