Fisherton Station was built by the Central Argentine Railway Company around 1890, in a context of the railway expansion in the country. Its architecture follows the guidelines of the English railway constructions of the time.
It was named after Henry Fisher, who served as manager of the company for almost two decades.
In 1948, as part of the nationalization process of the railway network, the station was renamed as Argentine Antarctica. Later, it was declared a Provincial Historical Monument, and in 1996, its public use was ensured through an agreement between the Municipality of Rosario and the Nuevo Central Argentino Company.
