This is one of the most traditional street intersections in the neighborhood. In the mid-XX century, the intense social and cultural life of Saladillo revolved around its small roundabout.
There were emblematic spaces such as the Piave Bar, which opened in 1940, and functioned as a bar, cafeteria, and billiard, in addition to offering dining for the workers of the Swift Rosario Meat Company.
Opposite the roundabout was the Diana Cinema, which opened in 1943 to reflect the great cinematic development of the time. It was a popular cinema that was part of the folklore of the area.
In the center of the roundabout, there is a bronze sculpture of Eva Duarte. It is popularly known as "The Tangerine Monument” because it originally had a metal ornament in the shape of tangerine slices.
