Between 1927 and 1929, the Provincia de Santa Fe Railway Company built its main passenger station for the city of Rosario here.
The structure highlights the entrance on the corner, extending to the sides with a larger body on Santa Fe Street than on Cafferata Street. The construction was conducted by Falcone Construction Company, and the project was designed by the Architects Tito and Jose Micheletti, and Enrique Chanourdie.
At the corner, the head of the building has an octagonal plan structure, on which a tower of 174 steps was placed. Its walls have small petal-shaped skylights that let the light in from the four cardinal points. It is crowned by a dome with black slates.
In 1950, the building was remodeled and adapted as a bus station for medium- and long-distance buses under the name of “Mariano Moreno”.
