This mural, made by famous plastic artist Ricardo Carpani, is located at Plaza de la Cooperación (Cooperation Square), popularly known as "Che Guevara Square". The mural was inaugurated in 1997, promoted by the former Municipal Secretary of Culture, Héctor Tealdi, and the organization Multisectorial de Solidaridad con Cuba, to pay a tribute to “Che” Guevara in the 30th anniversary of his death in Bolivia. Carpani was a distinguished Argentine artist whose work is related to political and social issues on the labor movement and human rights. The Tribute Mural of “Che” Guevara was one of his last works, since he died on that same year: 1997.
