Leo’s star plaque can be found at the intersection of Av. Pellegrini and Entre Ríos, with his complete name “Lionel Andrés Messi” on it. The player was awarded the golden medal in the 2008 Olympic Games held in Beijing, China.

The promenade is Rosario’s tribute to athletes representing the city in the most important international sport event. The star plaques including the honored athletes’ names, sports discipline, date and place of the competition are placed on both sidewalks of Pellegrini Avenue, from Moreno St. to Sarmiento St.
