First opened on September 2012, this cultural center offers a vast agenda of activities inside a building of outstanding architectural value.
Located on San Martin street Promenade, this cultural center managed by Rosario National University hosts a wide variety of activities for the community —from visual arts exhibitions, concerts and conferences, to book presentations and congress openings. The facility boasts a luxurious grand piano for world-class concerts.
This over 80-year-old building was donated by Banco de la Nación Argentina in the 80s, when the new headquarters of the bank were built. Its style is representative of Academicist Eclectic architecture and it is popularly known as The Cathedral or The Chapel (La Catedral or La Capilla), due to its similarity to traditional Catholic churches. It comprises three naves —a central one of double height, two on the sides, and one across, which serves as transept. The Italian granite overlay, the tall and slender columns, and the burnished bronze cash registers, are just some of the details of the imposing architecture which serves as a unique backdrop to the cultural activities held there.
