This train station, of British fund capitals, was opened in 1886 as a station for the Buenos Aires - Rosario branch line of the Central Railway. It connected the two cities in just four hours, enabling the transport of goods and thousands of passengers for many decades.
It was the epicenter of the neighborhood for more than fifty years, as the strategic point for rail access to the city. In 1908, the Buenos Aires - Rosario Railway Company and the Central Argentine Railway Company were merged.
The central facade of the building that faces Del Valle Ave. is of neoclassical style, and the north-facing platforms have a metal structure, exposed brick walls, and windows with thick grilles.
Part of the building was reconverted in 1999, and it is now the headquarters of the Municipal Department of Culture and Education. Known as Rosario Norte Station, it provides passenger train services to different cities in the country.
