Che’s Birthplace

Birth certificate locates Che’s birthplace at 480 Entre Ríos Street, Rosario.

That address corresponds to an important building that belonged to the insurance company Compañía de Seguros de Rosario. Besides its historical importance as the birthplace of Che, the building is an outstanding original project by architect Alejandro Bustillo. It was built in 1927 by brothers Guido and Enrique Ferrarese, who were responsible for many of the relevant buildings of that time, such as Fuentes Building, at the corner of Santa Fe St. and Sarmiento St. The apartment where Che was born on June 14th, 1928 is on the second floor, overlooking Entre Ríos Street.
